Here’s how it works:

1. Register on the www.careermarket.com.au job seekers section

It will take about 15 minutes to tick boxes, which answer 29 questions not only about your work and educational background but also about your career desires. You will also be requested to attached a current copy of your CV / resume.

2. Confirmation and communication check

You will be asked to confirm your submitted details as well as submit your mobile phone number and a valid email address. Once your contact details are verified (over night) your experiences go online. Your personal identification, contact details and resume are kept confidential until you agree to release this information to an appropriate employer once you are happy to pursue their opportunity.

3. Recruiters / employers can score your experience / career desires with their opportunity

Recruiters / employers with an opportunity identify up to 10 items from the series of questions to which you have responded. The employer weighs each criterion with all data being fed into a matrix to calculate a Compatibility Score. Employers can view your compatibility score as it pertains to that particular role as well as your employment responsibilities and career desires. Your compatibility score changes with each job opportunity…some jobs are ideal for you and some are not. Employers may also request your "profile" which highlights your past experiences without revealing your contact details or places of employment. At no time can an employers access your contact details or resume without your permission. You remain anonymous until you grant permission to release your contact details.

4. Screen opportunities presented to you

Once an employer has determined that you are an appropriate candidate they will use Career Market to contact you to request your contact details. At this stage Career Market will send you an SMS informing you that details of a job opportunity has been sent to your email address. You have 48 hours to decide whether or not to release your contact details. If no response is made within 2 working days of receipt of the invitation, the request for details will be declined.

5. View activity on your profile
   
   You can view activity on your profile at any time. Statistics are available on how many employers have viewed your score, reviewed your profile or have requested your contact details.
